Industry 4.0:
a new skill at WorldSkills Shanghai 2021

Industry 4.0 - the future of manufacturing The factory of the future is a network of cyber-physical systems with the aim of achieving a very high degree of resilience to changing market and customer requirements and the resulting turbulence in the production area. Furthermore, this goal is to be achieved under cost and efficiency aspects

Processes in industrial production become ever more digital and connected. To keep pace with technological progress, apprentices in Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and employees need to learn new technologies and specific applications.

The Future Skill of 2019, which was proactively supported by Festo, Industry 4.0, now becomes an official new skill at the 46th WorldSkills Shanghai 2021 competition.
